The elevator of a private house fell from the 6th floor, causing 2 deaths and 2 injuries. Municipal Supervision Bureau: The accident elevator is not a special equipment and cannot carry people.
At around 9 a.m. on January 15, an elevator in a private house in Dongyang Street, Rongcheng District, Jieyang City, Guangdong fell from the 6th floor. The final accident resulted in 2 deaths and 2 injuries. On January 22, Ms. Yang contacted reporters and said that her husband died in an elevator accident on January 15.
It is reported that a week after the incident, the investigation results of the cause of the accident have not yet come out. Ms. Yang hopes that the government can handle the matter fairly and impartially.On January 22, a staff member of Dongyang Street Office said that he was coordinating the handling.
The staff of the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Rongcheng District of Jieyang City replied that,The elevator in this accident was assembled by the landlord himself and is not a special equipment. The installation and maintenance of the equipment do not need to be reported to the relevant departments, but this kind of equipment can only carry goods and cannot carry people.
The reporter learned that at present, the local joint investigation team is involved in the investigation.
The elevator fell from the sixth floor.
The 28-year-old Ms. Yang and her husband are from Shantou, Guangdong. They opened a goose shop in Dongyang Street, Rongcheng District, Jieyang City, Guangdong, and hired several employees. Ms. Yang told reporters that because the Spring Festival was approaching, her husband hoarded some goose meat and recently rented a freezer in a local house.

Both Ms. Yang and an employee surnamed Shen of the goose shop confirmed to the reporter that on January 14, they went to the freezer to transport goose meat for the first time. At more than 9: 00 a.m. on January 15, Ms. Yang's husband, Ms. Yang's second brother and two employees in the store came to the freezer again. After two trips, the elevator fell on the third trip.
"I fell down when I reached the 6th floor." The employee surnamed Shen recalled that the rented freezer was on the 6th floor of the private house. The elevator was old and needed to pull the door in and out. The lifting was controlled by the remote controller in the landlord's hand.
Shen's employees recalled that they had to send more than 500 catties of goose meat to the freezer that day. On the last trip, they asked the landlord if the elevator was safe. The other party replied that it was safe and said that the elevator could bear 2000 catties.
Ms. Yang recalled to the top news reporter that at more than 9: 00 a.m. on January 15, she received a phone call from an employee in the store saying that her husband lost consciousness after falling down. "I told him to send me the location immediately and arrived at the scene as soon as possible. When I got there, (husband) his feet were in the elevator, his upper body was outside the elevator, and the whole person was lying at the door of the elevator." Ms. Yang said that she saw four people in the elevator after the incident. "The landlord died during the rescue. My second brother was seriously injured and suffered multiple fractures. Another employee was slightly injured and has been transferred out of icu."
The top news reporter saw in the video provided by Ms. Yang that there was damage above the elevator after the fall, and there were many goose meat scattered inside the elevator.
Private elevator non-special equipment

The staff of the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Rongcheng District, Jieyang City revealed to reporters that on the day of the accident, they invited experts from the Guangdong Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute to conduct an on-site survey of the equipment,Preliminary investigation results show that this accident equipment is not special equipment, "it is a promotion equipment assembled by the residents themselves, not an elevator, nor is it a lifting equipment."The staff said,Since the equipment does not belong to special equipment, its installation and maintenance do not need to be reported to the relevant departments, but this equipment can only be used to carry and lift goods, and cannot carry people.
