Bell... Bell... Bell... A rapid ringing of the alarm telephone broke the silence of the duty room of the fire and rescue station.
At 14:52 on December 24, the fire rescue station of Le Kai North Street received an alarm call: the construction elevator cable carrying three workers and a large number of building materials and goods at a construction site on Xuyang Road in the high-tech zone broke, causing the elevator to crack and tilt. The workers and goods fell to the ground. One person was buried under the building materials, and his life and death were unknown. The other two people were seriously injured. The elevator and goods were still crumbling in the air.
Danger is command, time is life. After receiving the police order, Le Kai North Street Fire Rescue Station dispatched 2 cars and 12 people and arrived at the scene at 14:58.
It was learned that when the three construction workers were carrying a large amount of goods (floor tiles and cement) from the first floor to the first floor, the elevator steel cable suddenly broke, the elevator was seriously damaged and tilted, and quickly fell to about 5 meters above the ground, causing the three construction workers and some goods to fall from the freight elevator to the ground on the first floor. Of the two workers who were not buried, one climbed out of the scene of the accident on his own, the other was seriously injured and could not move, and the other was buried under the falling object, and there was a large amount of goods hanging in the air on the damaged elevator, which could fall at any time. The situation is very critical.
Due to the shaking of the elevator, the fire rescue personnel first carried out a risk assessment on the scene, fixed the broken steel cable of the elevator at the floor support column, and set up a safety officer on the first floor to prevent the elevator and goods from falling and injuring people.
On the one hand, elevators and goods are in danger of falling at any time; on the other hand, workers waiting for rescue are uncertain about their life and death. Deputy squad leader Liu Tao and firefighter Zhang Xu did not have time to consider their own safety. They quickly carried the injured and immobile workers out of the accident site and immediately entered the elevator shaft to clean up the buried goods with bare hands and look for the buried personnel.
"Go away!" With an order, two firefighters who were digging nervously immediately evacuated to the safe area.
It turned out that the security officer suddenly found an iron plate on the elevator was about to fall. Only more than 10 seconds later, a shaky iron plate on the elevator fell to the ground instantly. The firefighters successfully avoided the danger, but the cement dust raised at the scene made people unable to open their eyes and breathe. After confirming that there was no risk of falling, the two firefighters re-engaged in cleaning and rescue work. At 15:11, the buried workers were successfully rescued and handed over to medical staff for treatment.
After the hospital confirmed that 3 people without life-threatening.
