"It's been more than once. I'm a little worried about taking the elevator now. I'm afraid of falling suddenly again!" On December 29, Ms. Yuan, who rented an apartment building at No.1 Xuefu, Shounan Street, Yinzhou, Ningbo, Zhejiang, reported that the elevator of the apartment building often fell and trapped people. She said that since last year, she has encountered four or five cases.
On the same day, the reporter came to the apartment to have an in-depth understanding of this hidden safety problem, hoping that the property, neighborhood committee and other relevant departments will pay more attention to it.

The woman took the elevator alone to rise to the 18th floor and suddenly fell.
At noon on December 29, the reporter came to No.1 apartment of Xuefu, Shounan Street, Yinzhou. The building was delivered in 2009 and consists of four apartment buildings. The elevator fell down from building A.
Ms. Yuan has been renting this apartment for many years. She took the reporter to the elevator lobby of Building A, pointed to the elevator, and talked about the incident with lingering fear.
At about 5 o'clock in the evening on December 28, she came back from work, when she was the only one in the elevator. Once she got into the elevator, she swiped her card and pressed the 20th floor.
"At first, although the elevator was a little shaky and there were abnormal noises, I didn't feel abnormal because of these problems. There was an accident when the elevator rose to the 18th floor." Ms. Yuan said that at that time, the elevator suddenly fell rapidly and slowed down again in the middle. The floor numbers on the display screen also turned into two lines of random codes.
"I was so scared that my heart almost jumped out and my mind went blank." Ms. Yuan said that she slowed down in the middle of the fall, but she was still scared because she didn't know what would happen next second.

In order to prevent the elevator from continuing to fall, Ms. Yuan tried to press the buttons on other floors, but the buttons did not respond. Afterwards, the elevator automatically dropped to the first floor of the ground floor and stopped and opened the door. Ms. Yuan hurriedly ran out. Fortunately, except for the shock, she was not injured.
Ms. Yuan said she had encountered problems like this four or five times.
Elevator failures occur frequently and people were trapped just before falling.
The reporter walked into the elevator to check and found that the four elevators in this building were relatively old, and one of them was still out of service. The reporter tried to take the elevator and felt that the noise and jitter were indeed relatively large.
During the interview, the reporter learned that on the afternoon of December 28, before Ms. Yuan took the elevator and fell from the building, the same elevator had just been trapped. At that time, it was about 1:00 p.m., a man was trapped in the elevator and the door could not be opened. Fortunately, a security guard outside the door rescued him.
However, after the occurrence of trapped people, the elevator did not stop operating, causing Ms. Yuan to fall again while riding.
"It's not the first time I 've encountered an elevator fall like this. It's been four or five times since last year." Ms. Yuan said that one night in March last year, she came back to take the elevator upstairs, and the elevator fell. "It was the first time, and it felt like it was falling faster. Finally it fell to the first floor and the door opened by itself." After the accident, she reported to the property company and the landlord, but the problem was not resolved, and then she encountered many falls on the ladder.
The reporter learned that there are 23 floors in Building A of Xuefu No.1, with more than 630 households. It is conceivable how frequently the four elevators are used.

The property company said it had repaired the neighborhood committee and was helpless.
The elevator problem is related to the safety of residents. For this reason, the reporter came to the Yongcheng Property Management Company of the community to learn about the situation. A manager surnamed Xu said that there is indeed a problem of high elevator failure rate. There are more accidents of trapped people and falling.
Manager Xu said that on the afternoon of December 28, there were first trapped people, and then in the evening, Ms. Yuan fell while riding. They reported to the elevator maintenance company, and then the maintenance company came to carry out maintenance.
"Now all the tensioners of the four elevators have been replaced, so they have been repaired. Another elevator is parked there because of the problem of water accumulation in the elevator shaft and is still being repaired." Property related personnel said that because the elevator service life has reached more than ten years, the failure rate has been relatively high in recent years. For maintenance fees, the property is also submitted to the Owners Committee for approval each time.

"It is estimated that it cost tens of thousands of yuan to replace the tensioners of the four elevators this time!" Property related personnel said that the failure and accident rate should be reduced after the replacement of parts.
It is understood that the new industry committee of Xuefu No.1 Community has not yet been formed. Therefore, the reporter found the relevant person in charge of the school community. Regarding the frequent occurrence of elevator failures, the relevant person in charge of the community expressed helplessness. Among the four apartment buildings, Building A has the most residents, with more than 630 households. However, buildings B, C and D each have only 200 or 300 households, but the number of elevators in each building is the same, all four. Therefore, the utilization rate of the elevator in Building A is very high, and the failure rate is particularly high due to improper use. As for the approval of maintenance costs, there are often disputes between the property and the industry committee, making the problem difficult to solve.
"Elevator safety involves people's livelihood, we will further do a good job in the coordination of property and industry committee." The relevant person in charge of the community said that he hopes to eliminate this potential safety hazard.
