Infants Injured by Spontaneous Combustion in Elevator of Chengdu Battery Car Won Donation to 1.2 million the Owner of the Accident

On the evening of May 10, a battery car in an elevator in Congshujiayuan Community, Chenghua District, Chengdu City deflated, injuring five people, including a baby.

According to the report "Visiting the Spontaneous Combustion Site of Chengdu Battery Cars: There are still many battery cars in the building involved and one is charging" published by the upstream news, Chengdu chenghua district Emergency Management Bureau reported that at about 19: 35 on May 10, 2021, a battery car fire broke out in Elevator 1, Unit 1, Building 9, Congshujiayuan Community, No. 8 Zhujialing Road, and the Longtan government team dispatched 2 cars and 10 people to deal with the fire. At present, the cause of the fire has been preliminarily determined to be caused by the fire of the battery car, and the relevant departments of Chenghua District are under further investigation.

He introduced to reporters that his profession is a security guard, and his wife works as an back office worker in a company. The monthly salary of the husband and wife is 2000 or 3000 yuan, which is a "low-wage class". The attending doctor told him that the medical expenses of the child and grandmother and the follow-up burn repair require "a lot of money". At present, the couple have paid nearly 20,000 yuan in medical expenses in advance. Faced with the high cost of surgery and treatment, Mr. and Mrs. Zhang said, "It is really overwhelmed”。

On May 11, Mr. Zhang raised medical expenses from the society as the father of the injured baby through the online fund-raising platform. As of 8 pm, 1.2 million yuan has been donated. Mr. Zhang told the upstream news reporter that the owner of the battery car has not contacted him until now. After the incident, the emergency management department and the street community told him not to worry about the money first, "rescue people first, find them if you need anything"; the property company also sent a staff member to wait at the hospital, "what they said is to ask them for help if there is anything".

Mr. Zhang said that it was a long process for the child and grandmother to get out of danger, but the responsible party did not reach a clear agreement with him on the cost of treatment and other issues, and he hoped to get "a clear answer".
