After Yangzhou issued the guidance on the pilot work of installing elevators in old residential areas in 2018, many old residential areas were equipped with elevators to start "acceleration". By the end of 2019, 18 residential areas and 24 elevators in our city had been completed and put into use.

However, some communities have a smooth process from application to installation, while others are stuck in the first step of consulting public opinion. The residents' opinions are difficult to unify and become a "roadblock" to the installation of elevators ".

The guiding opinions on the pilot work of installing elevators in our city follow the principle of "voluntary owners, leading by various districts, and multi-party support. According to the guidance, the installation of elevators in existing residential buildings shall be approved by the owners whose exclusive part of the building accounts for more than 2/3 of the total area of the building and more than 2/3 of the total number of households, and shall be unanimously agreed and signed by all the owners of the unit where the elevator is installed. A community worker said that when installing elevators, residents will have all kinds of wishes, and the community should be a good "middleman" to help residents fulfill their wishes. Don't just say "it's good to install elevators". What's good about it? Seeing is believing. What questions and demands the residents have should be considered one by one, and things will be easy to handle later.

The reporter saw in Building 5 of Wenhe Cuiyuan Community that an atmospheric sightseeing elevator was erected on the north side of the building, with a steel structure main skeleton and a glass curtain wall, which has a modern sense. The elevator took only 3 months before and after construction. After it was completed in December 2018, it was the first to install an elevator in Yangzhou. Community staff concluded that the rapid progress in elevator installation was mainly due to the concerted support of residents.

Shiqiao community staff said that the application for the installation of elevators requires the cooperation of the owners first, and the community should take the initiative to help in many things, such as helping residents to connect with various departments and providing business guidance with elevator construction companies. It is no longer difficult to install elevators. According to this "running errands" mode, 8 elevators have been installed in the community, and 3 elevators have been approved.

"Multi-platform Deliberative Mode"-Jiangling Garden

As the city's first to install the elevator model building Jiangling Garden, there are many successful experiences. Chen Jun, who was responsible for coordinating the installation of elevators in Shurenyuan Community, told reporters that there are more than 1000 residents in Jiangling Garden Community, more than 75% of whom are elderly residents, and there is a high demand for the installation of elevators. First of all, the residents actively cooperate with the community to establish a number of discussion platforms. In order to effectively resolve the contradiction, the community has set up a volunteer service platform for owners to carry out publicity activities through billboards, electronic screens, lectures, etc., to introduce successful cases and specific practices of installation in other areas, so as to improve residents' recognition of the installation of elevators.
