On October 28, an elevator failure occurred in a residential area in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. A 70 year old woman was caught by the elevator door and dragged up, resulting in the death of the old man on the spot. At the time of the incident, the old man slapped his arm on the elevator floor for help. A resident in the elevator and a takeaway brother tried to make an emergency rescue to no avail.
Family members said that the elevator in the community has been in use for more than ten years, and the elderly are very popular in the community. After the accident, more than 300 households came to express their condolences. At present, the accident is still under investigation.
The cover news reporter learned from other owners and elevator maintenance companies that the elevator in the incident had been out of service for many times, and the elevator in the next building had a dangerous situation of falling from the 17th floor to the negative first floor. On the evening of November 2, the owner said that there were other elevators that failed.
According to the maintenance company, the brand elevator involved is currently not sold in the market.

On October 28, 73-year-old Mrs. Wang sent her granddaughter to school as usual, and then did morning exercises in Binjiang Park near the community. Her morning exercises include long sword, flower fan and Taijiquan. Different morning exercises have made her know many companions.
The morning exercise ended at 10: 30 a.m. After waving goodbye to his companions, the old man walked into the Santa Fe neighborhood with his sword and was ready to go home. I greeted my neighbor and met a takeaway brother when I walked into the elevator on the first floor. The elevator came from the negative first floor with a neighbor above. Take-out brother walked into the elevator first, and the old man followed.
According to the monitoring in the elevator, the old man stepped into the elevator at 10: 46, the elevator door closed, the takeaway brother reached out and tried to press the elevator key, the door bounced open while the elevator rose out of control, the old man fell into the elevator gap instantly, and then the elevator continued to rise with the door half closed.
Within a minute after the accident, the old man had slapped his arms on the elevator floor for help. The neighbors in the elevator and the takeaway brother pressed the key anxiously. At the same time, they called for help and tried to bend down to pull the old man up. Then the old man did not move.
Mr. Zhang, the old man's son-in-law, said that he received two calls from his wife at about 12 noon that day, and finally fainted after hearing his wife hoarse. He asked his neighbors at home to help him check it out and hurried back to the neighborhood.
"Around 12:20 to the first floor, has surrounded a lot of people, said the old lady was dragged to the second floor, I went up she has no interest. Takeaway brother and the trapped neighbor rescued, said the old lady was waist-high squeeze, spit two mouths of blood, and then not line. Rescuers asked me for advice to see how to free the body." At about 3 pm, the body was rescued and the front and back sides of the waist were seriously injured and missing.
After the aftermath: more than 300 neighbors mourn, the owner said the elevator often broke down and crashed 18 floors.
Mr. Zhang introduced that the community was completed in 2006 and the family moved in in 2010. The old man brought up two children for the couple and had a deep relationship with the family. "My wife was in a state of mental breakdown, and my relatives and neighbors were taking care of me at home. I ran around to clean up the aftermath, and today I fainted and was sent to the hospital. The property delivered several boxes of water to my home, with a solatium of ten thousand yuan."
Mr. Zhang said that the old man is usually very frugal with himself and his family, and he doesn't talk much at home. Only after his death did he know that she was very popular in the community. More than one owner said that the elevator in the district was seriously aging and had failed many times. "I moved in 2007 and moved out in 2019. The elevator broke down at regular intervals. I once fell from the 17th floor to the negative first floor in the elevator. After the accident, neighbors found that the elevator maintenance record said that the last maintenance was in May 2018. My son still lives in the community. He said he couldn't come out for dinner last night. They didn't dare to take the elevator anymore. They all climbed up and down the stairs. He said that he would climb up and down 17 floors for a meal and would not come down."
Response: The maintenance company said that the brand involved in the two-year takeover of the residential area had stopped production and the elevator involved had been reported for repair many times.
According to the property of the residential area, there are 48 elevators in the residential area. The elevators involved have been closed at present. All other elevators have been investigated and there is no hidden danger for the time being. The investigation team has followed up on the specific case investigation.
The Jinshui District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Zhengzhou City stated that the city has set up a multi-department special team to investigate the matter, and it is not convenient to disclose the specific situation.
The staff of the company responsible for the maintenance of the elevators in the community said that they had just taken over the community for two years and had received many repairs, and the elevators involved had also been repaired. "The elevator is a Kanglu brand, which has been out of production for many years, and this elevator has not been sold in the market.
