An elevator maintenance worker in Wuhan died in a sudden accident while working in a residential area.
On the evening of November 11, 2021, a repair worker was killed in an accident while repairing an elevator in Zhongjiaojiang Jinwan District, Honggang Second Street, Qingshan District, Wuhan City. When his body was found, it was about 9 am on the 12th.
At noon on November 13, a reporter from Jumu News came to the incident area. The elevator where the accident occurred was located in Unit 1, Building 4, with 33 floors and four households. The reporter saw that the left one of the two elevators was out of service, and a baffle was placed in front of the door and sealed.
A resident told reporters about the incident: at about 8:00 p.m. on the 11th, some residents were ready to go downstairs. After entering the elevator, they found that there was an abnormal noise in the elevator operation, so they reflected to the property staff in the wechat group of the community.Soon after, an elevator maintenance personnel came to the 16th floor of the incident unit, opened the elevator shaft and entered the elevator car roof.During this period, residents went up and down through another elevator, and no abnormality was found.
At 8 o'clock in the morning on the 12th, some residents who went to work found that the elevator on the left had not responded, so they reported to the property.The property company sent someone to check,The maintenance man was found lying on the roof of the elevator car between the 16th and 15th floors and immediately called the police. Police and firefighters rushed to the rescue and carried the maintenance worker out of the elevator.
Another resident also confirmed that he had no vital signs when he saw the man being carried out. It was later learned that the man had already died,"This maintenance master's surname is Li. He is quite young. I heard that he is not married yet. It is a pity that such an accident happened.”
The reporter learned that the relevant departments have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
