Recently, Liao Jianghong reported that in September 2021, 12 owners of the residential area where she lived raised more than 400,000 yuan to install elevators, but until now, the elevators have not been completed, and the construction party has removed the safety handrails in the corridor before. It is hard and dangerous for the old people to climb up and down the stairs without handrails.
On January 10, the reporter came to the residential area where Liao Jianghong lived for investigation. The reporter found in the corridor that there were no safety handrails on all floors in the corridor. In order to get up and down safely, the old people tied several ropes in the corridor. Many old people told reporters that because there was no handrail, they fell down in the corridor more than once.
Later, the reporter contacted He Jiemin, the project manager of the construction party. He Jiemin said that the reason for the delay in completion was that the owners of the residential area had different opinions on the decoration method of the elevator. "I also want to complete it as soon as possible."
Under the coordination of reporters, the owners of the community and the construction party carried out a consultation meeting. The two sides reached an agreement at the meeting hall. The owners of the community unified the elevator installation method. He Jiemin promised that all the safety handrails in the corridor of the community would be decorated in place before the Spring Festival, and the elevator would be installed in March 2022.

Liao Jianghong told reporters that after the construction party entered the stadium in September last year, the stairs were renovated. Some stairs have been converted into ramps, and the temporary safety handrails on the ramps are basically of no use. "I live on the 6th floor of the top floor, and I feel scared every time I go up and down the stairs."
Many elderly people said that due to the delay in the completion of the elevator, it has brought great difficulties to their lives. Daddy Li is over 80 years old this year. When he went downstairs, he clung to the wall for fear of slipping. "I am a veteran and my body is still tough, but my wife has osteoporosis. She fell down many times while going up and down the stairs."
Daddy Xu, who is in his 70 s, told reporters that he had fallen down in the corridor at least five times. "Especially at the end of December last year, when it snowed, the shoes were wet and slippery up and down the slope. It was very inconvenient without safety handrails."
In order to travel conveniently, the old people made their own simple safety rope in the corridor. "We can only hold these ropes when we go up and down the stairs. There is no safety handrail. We are afraid that we will never get up after falling down."
Liao Jianghong and the old people hope that the construction party can install the safety handrails as soon as possible. "It's not realistic to expect them to install the elevator in a short time. We hope they can install the safety handrail first, so that it is safer to travel without worrying about it every day."
Construction party: the progress is delayed due to internal differences of the owner, and the safety handrail shall be installed before the Spring Festival.

He Jiemin, the project manager, said that he also hoped to complete the project as soon as possible, but there were some differences among the owners about the decoration method of the elevator, which led to the project being stranded. "Before, we planned to carry out flat layer installation, and the owners all agreed. However, when we were constructing, there were differences within the owners. Some owners did not agree to carry out flat layer installation, and hoped that we would carry out slope type installation."
When the reporter asked why there was no safety handrail installed, He Jiemin took the reporter to the community. The reporter found that there was a pile of safety handrail parts on the front flat. "The position of the handrail depends on which way the owners want us to decorate the elevator. Now we are building according to the standard of flat floor installation, if according to the standard of slope installation, then the elevator entrance of each floor has to be moved down 70cm."
Subsequently, with the intervention of reporters, the owners of the community and the construction party carried out a coordination meeting. The two sides reached an agreement on the elevator installation method and safety handrail decoration time at the meeting. The owners unanimously agreed to install the slope. He Jiemin said that the construction would start the next day and complete the decoration of all the safety handrails in building 1 of the residential area before the Spring Festival, and the elevator would be installed in March 2022.
