At more than 7 o'clock in the evening on February 13, two maintenance workers in an elevator were trapped in the Shanshuifang District of Kaili City. One of them was seriously injured. The situation was very urgent. Fire rescue personnel arrived and learned that two maintenance workers were trapped between the top of the elevator car and the top floor platform on the 30th floor. One of them had a broken arm. The elevator had stopped running for more than half an hour and was in urgent need of medical treatment.

Considering that the elevator space is narrow and the ventilation effect is poor, the maintenance workers are prone to tension due to being trapped for a long time, and even have difficulty breathing and fainting. The firefighters shouted to calm the trapped people while carrying out rescue. After consulting with the person in charge of the elevator maintenance company, the rescuers decided to demolish the top of the elevator. After intense rescue, a hole was cut in the top of the elevator. Firefighters successfully rescued the two trapped maintenance personnel safely and handed over the on-site medical staff to the hospital for examination and treatment.
