He Zhili is 73 years old this year. He speaks loudly and in full breath. He told reporters that Unit 1 of Building A has a total of 8 floors, and the floor below the third floor is a facade room. The entire building has only 12 residents. Before the installation of elevators, six owners had rented or vacant their houses, most of which were due to "difficulty in climbing stairs".

About 70% of the residents in Anyou Garden Community are elderly. Residents, especially high-rise residents, do not want to use elevators.

In 2020, he Zhili spent several months at home consulting the relevant policies and materials on the installation of elevators, and he probably had a bottom in his heart. "Before I retired, I managed engineering for the unit and knew mechanical equipment. I also served as a soldier and would never give up lightly."

In August 2020, He Zhili began preparations. He carefully selected a number of elevator brands and installation companies, and designed a set of charging scheme to send to the building WeChat group.

"Starting from the third floor, each household will start at about 15000 yuan, and each household will add 10000 floor by floor." Neighbors had no objection to the various plans put forward by He Zhili, but when soliciting the owner's consent, one household was reluctant to sign for fear that the ladder could not be installed smoothly.

He Zhili and the community workers took turns to do the work, but the other party could not make up their minds, so it took several months.

At the beginning of 2021, He Zhili was accompanying his sick wife in the hospital. During this period, he was still thinking about the elevator and called the community many times to inquire about the progress. Moved by He Zhili's insistence, the owner finally signed off.

On May 18, 2021, the elevator installation project in Unit 1 of Building A started. Four months later, a brand-new elevator rose from the ground, making it convenient for residents to travel, but also setting a "benchmark" for other residents in the community ".

The community has a "centripetal force", more residents into the elevator installation

In May 2021, when the elevator of Unit 1 in Building A was started, another major event occurred in Anyou Garden Community-the establishment of an autonomous committee in the community. This has played a vital role in the acceleration of subsequent elevator installation.

Anyou Garden Community was built in 2000. Due to the lack of relevant necessary materials, it is impossible to set up an industry committee, thus the community lacks autonomous "centripetal force".

In 2021, Anyou Garden Community was included in the list of old community renovation. In order to promote the smooth progress of the renovation, Xiqiao Community organized residents to carry out a "monthly talk on community governance" activity to discuss the issue of residents' autonomous organizations.

The Anyou Garden Community Autonomous Committee was subsequently established. Five people, including Ai Fangyou and Li Hanzhen, who are usually warm-hearted and concerned about community affairs, provoked the backbone of the community autonomous committee. In order to avoid the interaction between the installation of elevators and the renovation of old residential areas, Ai Fangyou suggested: "Start each unit building as soon as possible to determine the installation of elevators."

It gathered the high-level residents with the strongest willingness to install and discussed, and determined the working idea of "turning the big into the small": the residents of each unit building made their own decisions and organized the installation of elevators.

What brand to choose, what size, how much budget, how to charge, are determined by the residents of each unit, "rich and thrifty by people". The Xiqiao Community and Community Autonomous Committee is responsible for introducing and answering relevant policies and procedures, helping residents coordinate the streets and relevant departments, and providing supporting services.

"We consider that if the autonomous committee leads the elevator installation, there may be disagreement among the buildings, which will affect the overall progress." Ai Fangyou said that instead of a small number of people "taking care of it", it is better to mobilize everyone to work together. Everyone can concentrate on contributing to their own unit building and learn from each other.

The fastest elevator was installed in less than half a year, and the moved residents came back.

In mid -2021, Unit 3 of Building B began preparations for the installation of elevators, followed by Unit 2 of Building B, Unit 4 of Building C and Unit 4 of Building A. Everyone carries out "personalized" installation according to their own needs. There are 3 different brands in the existing 7 elevators.

The elevator of Unit 2 in Building A is currently the fastest installation speed in the whole community. It took less than half a year from the end of February this year to be put into use on August 18.

Zhu Ping, 66, who lives on the 7th floor of Unit 2, Building A, is one of the leaders in installing elevators. "With the leadership and demonstration of the front building, we successfully collected all the necessary materials for approval after only three meetings." In his view, the speed of installing the ladder is not only due to the united heart and strong will, but also due to the reference to the experience of other buildings, and many detours have been avoided.

"We chose the elevator company to install unit 3 of building B, and also learned the charging mode of unit 1 of building a. it took less than three months from the beginning of preparation to the formal construction." Zhu Ping said.

During the installation of the elevator, Zhu Ping went downstairs to stare at it when he was free. He also prepared tea for the workers when it was hot. "Although I don't understand engineering, I always feel that this is my own business, and I feel more at ease watching it."

Only one month after the elevator was put into operation, great changes have taken place in Unit 2 of Building A. The owners who had rented or vacant their houses began to move back, and the neighbors across the street from Zhu Ping's house also moved back.

At present, 4 elevators have been put into use in Anyou Garden Community, 3 elevators are about to be completed, and 1 elevator is under preparation.

Tangjiadun Street Public Service Office staff told reporters that under normal circumstances, it usually takes about a year to install an elevator, while Anyou Garden District can install an elevator in less than 2.5 months on average.

"The method of this community is worthy of reference, and we will also summarize its experience and promote it in the follow-up work to help other communities increase the speed of loading ladders." The staff said.
