In the high-end equipment manufacturing industry in Huichuan District, there are many workers who use hard-working hands and superb skills to promote the high-quality development of the industry. In Guizhou AVIC Elevator Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "AVIC Elevator"), Xie Daohong has experienced the transformation from installation work to after-sales maintenance post. What remains unchanged is his determination to devote himself to his job and promote "elevator up.
Xie Daohong is testing the elevator to study the elevator structure.
This year is Xie Daohong's seventh year of after-sales maintenance. He has been engaged in installation work since he entered AVIC Elevator in 2009. In 2016, as the company adjusted the positions of old employees, Xie Daohong also submitted an application for job transfer, hoping to change his identity and continue to shine in another area of elevator safety services.
"The simple thing is that most of the elevators are self-involved in the installation and the scene is familiar with the situation. The difficult thing is that the cause of the failure is complex, and the troubleshooting work is even more difficult than the repair." Talking about the most difficult elevator maintenance task, Xie Daohong said, "the most troublesome thing is the' soft failure' that is not affected by obvious external factors '."

"On one occasion, the customer did not install the AVIC elevator, but the original manufacturer could not find out the reason and found us. When we arrived at the scene, we found that the elevator was always up and down, and we could not seize the opportunity of failure to check, so the maintenance was more difficult." Xie Daohong recalled that in order to thoroughly find out the crux of the elevator operation failure, he and his colleagues squatted at the scene for 8-9 hours a day. After nearly a week of continuous persistence, they finally discovered that the door machine parameter setting was wrong, and the problem was solved by smooth maintenance.
It is precisely because of Xie Daohong's persistence and painstaking research that Yu Kunzhi, deputy director of AVIC Elevator Inspection and testing Center, described him as "tenacity": "Xie Daohong is not only meticulous and responsible in his work, but also always looks for various ways when he encounters problems in the process of elevator maintenance. It is precisely because of his tenacity that he has achieved rapid growth."
In the elevator after-sales maintenance post these years, although Xie Daohong has accumulated a lot of experience in on-site work, he still maintains the habit of diligent learning and questioning. In his opinion, the biggest difference between after-sales maintenance and installation is that it puts forward higher requirements for communication ability. It is not only necessary to communicate with users to understand the needs, but also to learn to "communicate" with elevators in the face of some unknown elevator soft faults. Through their familiarity with the elevator structure and operation principle, they should further improve the safety factor of elevator after-sales maintenance, this is also the primary reason why he often plunges into the elevator production site to study elevators with his colleagues.
"Xie Daohong is usually very enthusiastic and motivated in his work. When we repair elevators, he will take the initiative to help when we encounter difficult and complicated diseases or cannot repair them well. If he encounters a situation that he does not understand, he will also consult others in time to continuously improve himself. Ability is an example for us to learn from." He Jianguo, a staff member of AVIC Elevator Maintenance Service Center, said.
Through years of study and on-site work experience, Xie Daohong has not only gained a good reputation between the company and customers, but also won industry recognition in a number of skill competitions.
In 2020, Xie Daohong won the Excellence Award for Escalator Installation and Maintenance Project in the National Industry Vocational Skills Competition Final of the National Elevator Industry Vocational Skills Competition, and won the second prize in the 2022 the belt and road initiative and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition-Elevator Engineering Technology Competition (Staff Group), promoting learning through competition and contributing to the development of the industry with its own growth.
Recalling the more than ten years since the AVIC Elevator, Xie Daohong said that although the positions are rotated, the two jobs are equally important. Facing various specific situations on the scene, you need to be bold and careful. At the same time, elevator after-sales maintenance sometimes carries out maintenance for other brands of elevators, which also urges him to continuously learn the structure of different brands of elevators on the market and move towards the goal of "all-rounder" in elevator maintenance.
"In the past two years, we have encountered many complicated situations in the elevator after-sales maintenance work. We have improved our ability and level in solving problems time and time again. At the same time, I will continue to study hard and strive to pass the inspector qualification certification in the past two years. To ensure the safety of customers on the ladder." Xie Daohong said.
