Citizens Suggest: Escalator "Left Line and Right Stand" Etiquette! Metro Group: Not adopted!

In Wuhan, when you take the subway and there are people standing on the escalators, can you promote the elevator etiquette of "walking left and standing right"? Recently, some citizens suggested through the Wuhan city message board that they would like to add a "walking left and standing right" slogan to remind passengers and promote elevator etiquette. In response, the subway group said that the "left line and right stand" ladder will cause long-term unilateral stress on the equipment, aggravate wear and tear, and affect the safety of equipment operation.

Mr. Qiu, a citizen, reflected that there were more passengers standing on the subway escalator during the morning and evening rush hours every day, and some passengers who were in a hurry to go to work were blocked from walking on the escalator and had no choice but to endure it. Mr. Qiu suggested that he hoped to promote the escalator etiquette of "walking left and standing right" in the subway station to facilitate passengers in need. Some citizens also suggested that the slogan "walk left and stand right" could be pasted at the elevator handrail partition to remind passengers.
On June 27, the reporter saw at the entrance and exit d of the citizen's home station on subway line 3 that the escalator entrance was pasted with two positive and negative signs of "stand firm and help well". some passengers taking the elevator were standing on the right side of the escalator, while a few passengers carrying luggage were standing in the middle of the escalator. When there are fewer people on the elevator, many passengers choose to follow the escalator on foot. Ms. Liu, who took the elevator here, said that she did not pay attention to the relevant regulations of "walking on the left and standing on the right", but she usually used to stand on the right side of the escalator when taking the elevator.

At Wuhan Station of Metro Line 4, the up and down elevators are full of people most of the time. Mr. Wang, a tourist from Beijing, said that he usually stands on the right side when taking the elevator, so as to leave a passage for people in a hurry or some emergencies. Citizen Ms. Yin believes that whether you are standing on the left or right side of the escalator, don't walk or run, you should "stand firm and help".
A monitor on duty at the Citizen's Home Station of Metro Line 3 said that although the rule of "walking on the left and standing on the right" seems reasonable, it is dangerous for passengers to walk on the escalator. He advocated that passengers should stand firm and help themselves when taking the elevator. Stand in the safe yellow line with your feet until you arrive safely. Passengers in need can take the vertical elevator.

In response to the citizens' suggestions, Wuhan Metro Group also publicly replied that the direction of escalator equipment is usually relatively fixed, and the "left line and right stand" ladder mode will cause the equipment to be stressed on one side for a long time, aggravating wear and tear, thus affecting the safety of equipment operation. Although "walking on the left and standing on the right" has been advocated in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hong Kong and other places, it has been gradually canceled in recent years for security reasons.
