With the advent of the flood season in our country, large-scale severe convective weather has increased. In low-lying areas, heavy rainfall and strong typhoons may cause serious water accumulation. Elevators are very easy to cause failures due to wading, which brings inconvenience to citizens.

For seriously flooded elevators, it is necessary to stop using them in time. The maintenance unit shall repair the elevators and confirm the safety state before putting them into use.
In addition, elevator wading is easy to cause public safety accidents. The user should formulate relevant emergency plans for the hazards of elevator wading, so as to reduce the occurrence and harm of accidents as much as possible.

Escalator metal structure in a humid environment for a long time, will be subjected to electrochemical corrosion of water, reduce the strength of the metal structure.
When passengers encounter an elevator wading accident, they must first remain calm, do not panic, avoid riding, and inform the maintenance unit of the elevator wading situation.
Maintenance units and property units should strengthen inspections of elevator machine rooms and basements during the rainy season. After the rain recedes, they should carry out a comprehensive inspection of wading elevators and investigate problems before they can be put into use.
If the inspector finds that the elevator has the risk of electric shock or the equipment cannot operate normally, he may suspend the inspection and issue a Notice of Inspection Opinions to the construction unit or the user unit.
