Two people were trapped due to the fall of an elevator in a residential area in Sichuan. Before that, 26 elevators in the residential area failed to pass the tests.
At 9 o'clock in the evening on October 8, one and a half hours after the elevator fell, Ms. Wang, accompanied by the security guard on duty in the community, got into an ambulance.
At around 7:20 that evening, Ms. Wang, who lives in Area A of Luzhou Venice Peninsula, Xichang City, Sichuan Province, went home with her daughter. Unexpectedly, when the elevator in the community was running to about the 4th floor, it suddenly fell to between the first floor and the first floor. After the mother and daughter were trapped for half an hour, they were rescued by firefighters.
According to the owner of the community, the elevator in the community has failed many times before, and there are "out of insurance" situations, and safety problems frequently occur.After testing, all 26 elevators in the community were "unqualified".

At about 7:20 p.m. on October 8, Ms. Wang took her daughter into the elevator and went home as usual. When the elevator rose to about the fourth floor, it suddenly began to fall.
"At that time, my daughter and I grasped the handrail in the elevator, and then immediately pressed the button of the elevator on the lower floor. While pressing, the elevator shook and finally stopped on the negative floor." Ms. Wang said with lingering fear that the elevator fell quickly at that time, "I feel my feet are off the ground like jumping up."
Ms. Wang asked the reason for the late arrival of the property. The security guard on duty said that because Ms. Wang was trapped in the mezzanine of the first floor and the first floor, the property and elevator maintenance personnel could not rescue.
According to the "Luzhou Venice Peninsula Area A Property Management Contract" provided by the owner of the community, the community industry committee signed a three-year service contract with Xichang Ruize Property Management Co., Ltd. in September 2019. The service content includes that the property company should ensure that the public facilities and equipment in the community are operating normally, in good condition, and have no hidden dangers of liability accidents. The owner of the community said that although there was no renewal of the contract, the current residential property is still the responsibility of Ruize Property Management Co., Ltd.
Before the elevator appeared "out of insurance" situation
Ms. Wang's experience is not the first case in this community. According to another owner of the community, in September, she and her child were also in an elevator in the community, falling from the 6th floor to the 2nd floor. Previously, there are owners in the owners group complaints about the fall of the elevator.
"Since mid-September, half of the elevators have been shut down in residential properties." Ms. Chen, the owner of the residential area, said, "when asked the reason, the property said that the street office was closed, but we have not seen the relevant shutdown documents."
At about 10 pm on October 8, about 3 hours after the elevator fell, the relevant person in charge of Ruize Property Company and the person in charge of the Xichang Dongcheng Sub-district Office where the community is located, as well as the staff of the Xichang Market Supervision Bureau rushed to the community property office.
The owner questioned this: "The 13 units that are now in operation are repaired and have passed the inspection, so why are there still falling incidents?" In this regard, the staff member said at the scene that the specific reason for the elevator fall is not clear, after which the maintenance company will be required to maintain once every 3 days, and suggested that the rest of the elevators be repaired at one time to solve the elevator overload use situation.
"Our current demand is to find out the cause of the elevator failure, the responsible person is responsible for repairing the elevator, and the manufacturer provides follow-up maintenance." Ms. Chen said.
At about 8 o'clock in the morning on October 9, the elevator of Unit 1, Building 8, where Ms. Wang was located, failed again. "Last night, the elevator maintenance also said that our elevator failure rate is within the normal range, less than 12 hours, and then out of order, how to explain?" In the face of the unit owners questioned, the elevator maintenance party Xichang Jingcheng Elevator Maintenance Company did not reply.
