According to GB/T 7024-2008 "Elevators, Escalators, Automatic Sidewalks Terminology", non-commercial car elevators refer to elevators whose cars are suitable for carrying small passenger cars. It is strictly forbidden to change the purpose of use when using car elevators to carry vehicles other than small passenger cars.
Car elevator in the special equipment catalog is a special type of freight elevator, and freight elevator has the following differences:
Car elevator for car use, the performance standards in accordance with the single use of the car to design, in carrying capacity, size and opening, floor strength, mode of operation and safety facilities and cargo elevator differences.
The scope of use of car elevators includes car sales centers, car repair centers, parking lots, etc. It mainly carries out vertical transportation of cars inside buildings or parking lots, and can only transport cars from one floor to another to achieve more Efficient parking and space utilization.
The use of cargo elevators includes logistics and warehousing, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, etc., mainly in the vertical transportation of goods inside buildings or other places, and can be used to transport various types of goods, including but not limited to heavy equipment, furniture, shelves and other items.
(1) The effective area of the car elevator shall be calculated according to the rated load and the effective area of the unit car not less than 200kg/㎡; If the rated load of the freight elevator car is below 2500kg, the maximum effective area of the car shall meet the requirements of the following table. For example, if the rated load of the freight elevator is 1500kg, the effective area of the car is 3.40 ㎡; When the rated load of the car is greater than 2500kg, the rated load is 100kg, the maximum effective area of the car is increased by 0.16 ㎡. For example, for a freight elevator with a rated load of 3000kg, the effective area of the car is 5.8 ㎡. Therefore, under the same rated load, the car elevator car area is much larger than the freight elevator, with the car elevator to carry other goods, it is easy to cause accidents due to overload.
(2) The car elevator needs to stop at the ground floor and place a weight of 150% of the rated load in the car for 10 minutes of static traction inspection; Over-area cargo elevators only need to carry out static traction inspection of 125% of the rated load, while ordinary cargo elevators do not need static traction inspection.

Through the introduction, we already have a certain understanding of the car elevator, in the future life, we must use the car elevator correctly:
1. It shall be used only for the carriage of small passenger cars and shall not carry other goods.
2. The user shall post the following signs on each floor of the elevator (above the outgoing call panel), near the floor selection button in the car and on the car wall. The signs shall be firm and not easy to fall off.
According to the Announcement on Issuing the Rules for Elevator Type Test issued by the General Administration of Market Supervision, the type test certificate for automobile elevators will expire after June 30, 2023, but the previously installed and operated automobile elevators can still be used normally. If it is found that the car elevator is no longer used to transport cars, it will be judged unqualified in the regular inspection and reported to the supervisory organization. Please remember not to change the use of the elevator at will!
