Sun Fengquan, who lives in Jiefang No.2 Residence in nanqiao town, Fengxian District, often feels distressed about "going home. She is 88 years old this year. She has inconvenient legs and feet. She often climbs a few stairs and is panting. Every time she climbs the fourth floor, she feels exhausted. Now, the corridor where Sun Fengquan lives has new equipment. Every time she climbs two flights of stairs, she can sit on the newly added love seat at the corner to rest, and the way home will no longer suffer.
The reporter learned that since late October, in response to the problem that it is difficult for elderly residents in communities with a high degree of aging to travel upstairs and downstairs, the Liberation Housing Committee and the enterprises of the "Hundred Enterprises and Hundred Districts" real estate engineering group in nanqiao town have been in the community. One hundred "halfway rest love seats" have been installed in the corridors in need to alleviate the difficulties and discomfort of elderly residents when climbing stairs.
Jiefang Community is located in the center of the old city of Nanqiao Town. The community has a high degree of aging. Among the more than 14000 permanent residents, the number of people over 60 years old exceeds 5000, accounting for more than 30%. The difficulty of climbing up and down the stairs has deeply troubled this group. Zhu Ying, secretary of the party committee of Jiefang Community, told reporters that in recent years, many old residential areas have installed elevators for existing multi-storey houses to provide convenience for the disabled and the elderly, but for Jiefang Community, there are physical "congenital deficiencies" in installing elevators ".
According to her introduction, the housing age in Jiefang Community is generally large, most of which were built in the 1980 s, and the infrastructure and housing quality are seriously degraded. The structure of the house is diverse, not only the height of different buildings is different, but also the number of households corresponding to each ladder in the corridor is uneven, ranging from two to four households per ladder, which is quite chaotic. The distance between adjacent buildings is also relatively narrow. The preliminary investigation shows that the housing structure and building group spacing in the community can not meet the requirements of installing elevators.
"You might as well install a half-way rest seat in the corridor, so that the old people can rest when they are tired from climbing the stairs." The installation of elevators is impassable, and a substitute solution to alleviate the discomfort and difficulties of the elderly during climbing has become a new idea to balance the needs of the elderly and the absence of barrier-free equipment.
However, with an idea, who will implement it? Businesses paired with the liberation community come to help. The reporter learned that since June 2022, Nanqiao has relied on the regional party building platform to build the brand of "100 enterprises and 100 districts" and explore a new model of grass-roots governance of "community enterprises". 11 enterprise groups and 11 community party organizations, more than 160 enterprises have signed contracts with more than 150 communities to carry out joint construction in pairs, and inject more social forces into community grass-roots governance by using the resources of "100 enterprises. According to Zhu Ying, relying on this mechanism, enterprises such as Huashu Construction Project, Fengxian Second Construction, Jianghai Real Estate, Yuming Construction Group and Louli Construction, which are paired with the community, have taken the initiative to undertake the construction tasks and costs of installing love seats in the community corridor. Since late October, after a full coverage visit to the community and a comprehensive understanding of the actual needs of residents, seats have been added to the corridors with elderly residents or special groups on the high floors.
The reporter observed that in order not to occupy the corridor space, the rest seats were welded at the corner of the stairs by folding and pasting the wall, and the other side of the wall was equipped with handrails. Peng Liangde, head of Huaxu Construction Project, one of the real estate engineering enterprises involved in the construction, told reporters that in order to ensure the safety of the elderly, the construction team adjusted the installation method of seats according to local conditions in different corridors. For example, some corridor wall structures are old and loose, and seats are easy to loosen after installation. For this reason, the construction team specially removed the original wall skin and refilled cement to increase stability. In addition, the engineering team repeatedly tested and calculated that the height of each seat was fixed at about 45cm from the ground to facilitate the elderly to get up and sit down.
The reporter learned that up to now, Jiefang Community has completed the installation of the first batch of 100 love seats. In principle, it is ensured that each building is equipped with one, and the buildings with a large number of elderly residents are also tilted in number. "This seat is very convenient. Now every day when I go upstairs, I can rest on the seat on the second floor for more than ten minutes and accumulate enough strength to go up again." Sun Fengquan said.
