"As a manufacturer of elevator products, our company has vigorously developed intelligent manufacturing in recent years. The entire production process in the factory is mostly automated, with robots completing all processing and welding, except for some auxiliary production that requires human labor." On January 25, during the second session of the 14th Guizhou Provincial People's Congress, Hu Ming, a representative of the provincial people's congress and the party secretary and chairman of Guizhou Zhonghang Elevator Co., Ltd., mentioned that Guizhou manufacturing has been continuously developing with technological innovation at its core in new industrialization, and the quality of the products produced has gradually narrowed the gap with the developed regions in the eastern coastal areas. Some high-quality products have even gone abroad and are exported overseas.
"This year's 'Government Work Report' pointed out that we must focus on industrial development, primarily on industry. I have been engaged in the equipment manufacturing industry for nearly 40 years, so this aspect resonates deeply with me." Hu Ming said, "Industry is the ballast of national economic development, and focusing on industrial talent, management, systems, and markets is crucial for promoting the high-quality development of industrial enterprises."
Zhonghang Elevator is the only advanced equipment manufacturing enterprise in Guizhou that integrates elevator design, production, installation, transformation, and maintenance. It has a fully automated production line and over 200 patents, and is one of the three state-owned elevator manufacturing enterprises in the country, with state-owned capital accounting for 93%.
How state-owned enterprises can develop steadily and serve society and the public well has always been a question Hu Ming has pondered. At this year's provincial two sessions, Hu Ming brought suggestions regarding the innovation-driven high-quality development of state-owned enterprises. In his suggestions, he proposed some thoughts on talent introduction based on demand and designing a good talent exit mechanism, scientifically planning and executing the medium and long-term development of enterprises, flexibly reforming systems and mechanisms within the national regulations, and reasonably utilizing the local market to promote better growth of enterprises.
"Currently, there are tens of millions of elevators operating in the country, and the market for their renewal and maintenance is huge. Looking globally, elevator products will continue to be updated, which is a blue ocean we need to continuously explore." Hu Ming stated that Guizhou has the advantage of catching up in industrial development. "Currently, through the 'Belt and Road' initiative, our produced elevators have been exported to countries such as Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The quality of these products has received high praise and has been recognized by many national elevator associations. It is expected that by 2024, exports may exceed 300 units. In the future, we will focus on intelligent manufacturing, produce more high-quality products, serve the domestic and international dual circulation development pattern, and contribute to the new industrialization development of Guizhou."
