At 12:46 on January 18, the Fire Rescue Brigade of Xinfeng County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province received a call from the masses. In a building under construction opposite the Shuidong Gas Station in Xinfeng County, a person fell into an elevator shaft. After receiving the alarm, the brigade immediately dispatched a rescue vehicle, a water tanker and 12 firefighters to the scene of the accident.
At 12:59 on the same day, firefighters arrived at the scene. After communicating with the police, it was learned that the trapped man was a worker who wanted to transport an aluminum door through the elevator. However, the elevator broke down and the elevator door opened, but the elevator compartment did not come down. The worker accidentally stepped on the empty and fell into the elevator shaft together with the aluminum door from the first floor.
Firefighters on-site investigation found that the trapped people were trapped at the bottom of the elevator shaft, their right leg was injured and bleeding, and they were conscious. Because the aluminum door is stuck between the elevator door on the negative floor and the elevator shaft wall, the elevator door on the negative floor cannot be opened.
At this time, the faint groans of the trapped people continued to come from the bottom of the well. In order to rescue the trapped people as soon as possible, a firefighter immediately took personal protection and descended to the bottom of the elevator well with a safety rope. While comforting the trapped people and relieving their nervousness, he tied the aluminum door with a safety rope. With the cooperation of the firefighters above, he pulled the aluminum door to the first floor. Then the elevator maintenance personnel successfully opened the first floor.
At 13:40 that day, at the bottom of the stairwell, firefighters cooperated with the firefighters above to successfully carry the trapped people to the concrete floor above. He was immediately sent to an ambulance, and the on-site medical staff sent him to the hospital for treatment.
