The elevator is being repaired, but the pregnant woman is going to give birth.
In a critical moment, firefighters were transferred from the 11-storey building to medical treatment.
In the early morning of March 2, a pregnant woman on the 11th floor of Unit 1 of Huaxia Mansion Community broke her amniotic fluid and was about to give birth. As the elevator was under repair that day and could not be used normally, the pregnant woman was trapped in her home on the 11th floor and was in urgent need of medical treatment. At such a critical moment, the family thought of the fire rescue workers for help.
At 5:15 a.m. on March 2, after receiving the dispatch of the command center, the Tuanje Road Special Service Sub-station of the Shangqiu Fire Rescue Detachment immediately dispatched 2 fire trucks and 14 fire officers and fighters to rush to the scene for rescue.
After arriving at the scene, the firefighters learned that the pregnant woman lived on the 11th floor, the expected date of delivery had arrived, and the amniotic fluid broke, but the elevator of the unit building was in repair and could not be used normally and could not go downstairs smoothly.
Taking into account the emergency situation of pregnant women, in order to prevent accidents, the firefighters consulted the professional advice of medical staff on the spot, and decided to use a multi-functional stretcher to transfer pregnant women with head and feet.
The firefighters first transferred the pregnant woman from the bed to the multifunctional stretcher, fixed it firmly with a safety rope and a belt, and covered it with a quilt to ensure warmth and comfort during the transfer. Then firefighters from the 11th floor through the walking stairs, together slowly lifted the pregnant woman down layer by layer.
Because the pregnant woman had already shown signs of labor at that time, the firefighters walked very cautiously and smoothly on every step, and were very careful at the corner of the stairs, for fear of hurting the pregnant woman and the child in her belly. After nearly 30 minutes of emergency rescue, the pregnant woman in labor was safely and smoothly carried to the ambulance waiting downstairs by the officers and soldiers, and was then sent to hospital for treatment.
At noon on March 2, firefighters at the special service sub-station contacted the pregnant woman's family by telephone and learned that the pregnant woman was safe because she was sent to the doctor in time and gave birth smoothly.
The pregnant woman's family said: "At that time, the incident was really too sudden, the pregnant woman's amniotic fluid burst, immediately gave birth, live in a relatively high, the elevator can not be used, really at a loss, very worried, so the police for help our firefighters. Thank you very much for the timely assistance of the fire officers and soldiers, quickly sent to the doctor, only in exchange for the mother and daughter safe, thank you!"
