Residents Angry Elevator Not to Use in Time after Maintenance

On January 28, residents of the "Yunding 100" community in the locust weir of Jialing District wrote to the mayor's mailbox online to complain that the "Yunding 100" community has 30 storeys in total, with 3 elevators running and more than 10 households on the first floor, after the maintenance and trial operation for many days, it was suddenly closed, leaving only one elevator to run. The residential property replied that the elevator was locked by the maintenance company, because the elevator must be reported to the municipal special inspection office for inspection before it can be used. The maintenance fund was used for this maintenance, and the elevator maintenance company did not submit the relevant information in time.

"Why does an application process take so many days?" Residents anxiously reflected that 33-story buildings, more than 300 households, one elevator a day, the elderly at the top have to wait downstairs or even an hour to get on the elevator, and some young people have to climb 20 or 30 floors to and from work.

The department interviewed the person in charge of the elevator company for review.

On March 2, when the reporter interviewed the "Yunding 100" community on the spot, the community property checked the relevant records and showed that the maintenance was for elevators 2 and 3 in the community. On January 5, elevator 2 was repaired and put into trial operation. On January 10, elevator 3 was repaired and put into trial operation. From January 27 to February 3, elevators 2 and 3 in the community were out of service at the same time, and only elevator 1 was available in the whole community. According to an investigation by the Municipal Housing Management Bureau, on November 27 last year, the owners' committee of the "Yunding 100" community applied to the Municipal Housing Maintenance Fund Management Center, the subordinate unit of the bureau, for the use of maintenance funds of 99000 yuan for the maintenance of two elevators in the community.

After the relevant staff of the center obtained evidence and verification, the community owners' committee, as the tenderer, invited public bidding and selection according to regulations, and finally Chongqing Changgan Elevator Co., Ltd. became the winning bidder for the elevator maintenance. The construction period of the elevator maintenance project in the residential area is 40 days agreed by the industry committee and the maintenance enterprise contract, from December 21, 2020 to January 30, 2021. The two elevators were repaired in advance, that is, the elevator on January 5 was repaired on the 2nd and the elevator on January 10 was repaired on the 3rd. "After verification, after the elevator company completed the maintenance of the two elevators, due to the insufficient attention of the person in charge of the project, the relevant materials were not submitted to the municipal special inspection office for inspection and acceptance in time, resulting in the elevator not being delivered on time and bringing inconvenience to the lives of residents in the community."

A few days ago, the Municipal Housing Management Bureau stated in its investigation response that the bureau had interviewed the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Changgan Elevator Co., Ltd. and ordered it to correct immediately to ensure the normal operation of the two elevators in the "Yunding 100" community. On January 30, the elevator company applied to the municipal special inspection institute for testing, and the elevator was resumed after passing the test on February 3. The elevator company in question realized the mistake and made a written review to the municipal housing maintenance fund management center, promising that similar things would not happen again in the future. The relevant person in charge of the housing management department said that he would take it as a warning and strengthen the assessment and management of the credit information of housing maintenance enterprises to prevent the occurrence of similar situations.
