The safety accident caused by electric vehicle charging is far from Chengdu in recent months. In the early morning of April 5, a fire broke out in a self-built house in Hangzhou, causing one death and one injury. The location of the fire was the place where the electric vehicle was charged; on April 26, a residential building in a community in Tongzhou suddenly caught fire, which was also caused by a household. On May 8, an electric vehicle fire broke out in an old residential area in Xuchang City; since 2021, there have been 71 cases of electric vehicle fire in Nanjing. Last year, 421 electric car fires in Shanghai, killing 20 people, can be described as shocking.
Data show that 80% of electric vehicle fires occur during the charging process, and almost all dead fires occur during the charging period. Therefore, parking electric vehicles in the corridor for charging is a huge hidden danger and threat to the public safety of the whole building. But why would car owners rather risk endangering their own lives and the lives of others to let the electric car upstairs? First, many residents lack safety awareness, lack of public morality, and take a chance, think that "this kind of bad luck is not on my head"; and then many communities have no electric car parking area, or no charging pile, have to push the cart upstairs, or take the battery home to charge.
According to reports, after the fire broke out in this community in Chengdu, there were still electric vehicles parked in the corridor to charge. Property personnel said there is no law enforcement power, so can not carry out effective supervision. This is also the current management status of many residential areas. Most of the properties take a laissez-faire attitude towards electric vehicles upstairs. Since the Ministry of Public Security has issued the "Notice on Regulating the Parking and Charging of Electric Vehicles and Strengthening Fire Prevention", it is strictly forbidden to park or charge electric vehicles in public areas such as shared aisles, stairwells, and safety exits in buildings; since the Civil Code It is clearly stipulated that "acts that violate laws and regulations related to public security, environmental protection, and fire protection in the property service area, the property service person shall take reasonable measures to stop it in a timely manner, report to the relevant administrative department and assist in handling it". Electric car upstairs, why can't the property rightfully intercept?
In the face of electric vehicle fires one after another, effective measures must be taken. On the one hand, electric vehicles are strictly prohibited from entering the building. On the other hand, they must also provide residents with necessary charging equipment in the safe area of the community. Recently, the Beijing Fire Department reminded citizens that if they find electric vehicle fire hazards and fire safety violations, they should call the "12345" report number in time or report through effective channels; Jinan, Weifang and other places in Shandong Province adopt intelligent monitoring methods, and electric vehicles enter the elevator., Automatic monitoring will call the police, and if the electric vehicle does not go out of the elevator, the elevator will not run, which is a good way worth promoting.
More importantly, electric vehicles are prohibited from entering elevators and corridor charging. Relevant administrative regulations should be issued and detailed penalties should be clarified so that residents and properties have rules to follow. Residents report, elevator refusal, property due diligence, and interception in accordance with laws and regulations, so that electric vehicles dare not go upstairs again.
