Recently, an elevator rushed to the top of a building in a residential area in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, and a woman trapped in the elevator died. On May 26, according to the cover news report, the pull rod on the brake of the faulty elevator was later found to be broken.

On May 25, the local municipal supervision bureau issued a circular that the initial judgment of the elevator brake failure. On the 26th, the Municipal Supervision Bureau said that as the accident involved professional and technical aspects, the detailed reasons are still being investigated by experts, and a report will be issued for publication after the results are released.

It is reported that the developers and elevator manufacturers of the involved residential areas have gone to court several times due to disputes over the payment caused by the delivery time of the elevators. According to the judgment published on the Internet of China's Judgment Documents, some elevators installed by the manufacturer failed in the first inspection and were obviously overdue when they passed the re-inspection.
