On May 27, the reporter learned from the Guangdong Fire Rescue Corps that at 11 a.m. on the 26th, it was located at Qifu Hospital, Zhongcun Street, Panyu District,An elevator maintenance worker was trapped on the top of the car due to a sudden failure when disassembling the elevator. The head and chest were injured to varying degrees. The situation was critical and in urgent need of rescue.
The fire rescue personnel arrived at the scene quickly after receiving the alarm. It was learned that the trapped man was a worker who dismantled the elevator at the scene. He was currently lying flat above the elevator car. The elevator had reached the top of the elevator shaft. The distance between the car and the upper wall was about 50cm. The outside could not directly reach the position for rescue. At the same time, the man was asked to know that his hand might be broken and his head and chest were injured to varying degrees.
As the internal space is narrow and personnel cannot enter, considering that the use of lowering the elevator shaft for rescue may cause secondary injuries, fire rescue personnel were organized to use rock drills to cut a hole in the side wall above the elevator shaft for rescue.
In the process of demolition, it was found that the progress was slow, so the fire rescue personnel immediately coordinated the construction site to use the hole punching machine to break down the wall. Finally, after nearly three hours of intense rescue, the wall was successfully broken into a hole of about 50cm in length and width. Finally, the fire rescue personnel used a rescue stretcher to rescue the trapped personnel from the hole and sent them to the hospital for further treatment.
It is understood that the elevator has been in use for 20 years. At the time of the incident, the elevator box was on the 20th floor. A worker disassembled the elevator above the box. The elevator was suddenly trapped upward due to the sudden failure of the brake of the elevator main engine.
