Eyewitness Mr. Lu was working on the ninth floor at the time. He told Jiupai News that he and his colleagues heard a huge impact from the elevator at the time of the incident. When they went out to check, they found that the elevator was in a state of shutdown.

At first, Mr. Lu tried to shout to the elevator several times but did not answer. Later, he heard the cry for help from the woman in the elevator. Only later did he know that the elevator had a roof failure and suddenly rose from the 3rd floor to the 9th floor.

"We tried to open the elevator door with our hands at first, but it didn't work. The girl trapped in the elevator was injured, and my colleague and I worked together, he called the rescue number, and I was responsible for keeping in touch with the girl to ease her nervousness." After about 20 minutes, fire rescue personnel arrived and finally successfully rescued the injured woman and sent her to the hospital for treatment.
