On the afternoon of February 26, an elevator in a factory building in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province broke down, causing 19 people to be trapped for about half an hour. Local firefighters rushed out for rescue. According to the fire personnel on-site understanding of the situation, do not rule out the overload caused by the elevator failure.

The fire staff of Guzhen Town, Zhongshan City introduced to the Jimu News reporter that on the afternoon of February 26, the second full-time fire brigade of Guzhen Town received a police report that many people were trapped in an elevator in the town's Gangnan New Town Residential Center and requested fire rescue. The fire brigade immediately dispatched 2 fire engines and 9 fire rescue personnel to dispose of them.

After arriving at the scene, the fire rescue personnel learned that the site of the incident was a factory building. After the elevator broke down, it stopped between the 4th and 5th floors. Many people in the elevator were trapped and emotional.

The fire rescue personnel immediately launched the rescue. First, the elevator was powered off to ensure that the elevator would not plummet. After that, the elevator emergency key and crowbar were used to open the elevator door on the 5th floor, and then the trapped people in the elevator were pulled up one by one from the car. During this period, they were also constantly calming the emotions of the trapped people. About half an hour after the rescue was over, the rescuers learned that a total of 19 people were standing in the elevator at the time of the incident. According to the comprehensive judgment of the scene, the elevator failure caused by overloading could not be ruled out.

Guzhen fire staff reminded that when you are trapped in the elevator, please don't panic, because the elevator is not completely closed and is not easy to cause suffocation. If you encounter too many people in the elevator, you should calm down and adjust your breathing as soon as possible. Don't try to open the elevator door forcibly. The correct way is to call the emergency phone and 119 phone posted in the elevator for help, or to send a distress signal to the outside world by slapping the door hard. When professionals come to rescue, they must obey the command of rescue personnel and cooperate with rescue operations to ensure safety.
