An inclined elevator accident in Bali, Indonesia killed five people.
According to local media reports, on September 2, a serious accident occurred in an elevator at the Ayuterra Resort in Ubud, Bali. The equipment fell into a 100-meter-deep ravine, killing all five employees who took the elevator.
Bali police have launched an investigation. At present, the elevator area has been cordoned off, with dried blood, and the smell of blood remains at the scene.
It is understood that the elevator in the accident has a 65-meter-long track, with only a hanging sling as a safety guarantee, which is usually used to transport guests. The elevator entrance is rather secluded and must be accessed through a special passage.
Preliminary investigation results showed that the cause of the accident was that the elevator that should be taken by up to four people was overloaded, but the police did not give a specific maximum load of the elevator. The management of the resort said that they regularly maintain the elevators and have technicians inspect them every month.
