On the morning of May 27, a person fell into an elevator shaft accident in Fanrongjiayuan District, Jiaojiang District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. An owner of the elevator, accidentally fell into the elevator shaft, unfortunately died.
According to an owner of the residential area, the incident occurred at about 6: 10 a.m. on may 27. The man who fell into the well was an owner surnamed Wang and was in his 50 s. When the man fell into the elevator shaft, no one passed by. It was his lover who found that the phone had been unable to get through. Only then did he realize that something might have happened, so he hurried downstairs to look for it.
This was confirmed by a security guard in the area. According to the security guard's recollection, at that time, he was on duty in the community, and immediately rushed to the scene of the incident after receiving a call for help from the trapped elevator. The security guard said that while the trapped man was waiting for rescue, he had opened the elevator door to try to escape, but did not expect such an unfortunate thing to happen in the end.
The reporter saw in an elevator next door to the incident unit building that the maintenance sign of the elevator showed the words "Maintenance Unit: Zhejiang Ao Elevator". The maintenance date in the column was recorded until May. In addition, there is an emergency telephone in the elevator, next to the phone number and safety precautions.

At about 3 pm on May 27, the reporter interviewed the Special Equipment Safety Supervision Section of Jiaojiang District Market Supervision Administration. Regarding whether the elevator broke down at the time of the incident and the maintenance of the elevator, the relevant staff said that they are under further investigation.
So, when people are trapped in the elevator, how can citizens save themselves correctly?
"In the event of such a situation, we must first keep calm and make full use of the distress calls and alarm bells in the elevator to get in touch with outside rescuers." The staff said.
The market supervision department reminded that people trapped in the elevator should not take extreme behaviors, such as picking the elevator door with their hands, shouting, etc., because in the limited space of the elevator, the oxygen content is limited. Keep calm as much as possible so that the trapped person will not suffocate due to lack of oxygen in a short period of time.
"Do not push the door forcibly while waiting for rescue. If there is an emergency exit on the elevator ceiling, do not try to climb out." The staff member said that if the exit plate is accidentally closed and the elevator is out of balance, the trapped person is likely to trip over the elevator cable in the dark elevator trough, or slip and fall off the elevator roof due to grease.
In addition, in the event of a rapid fall of the elevator, the trapped person can bend his knees to withstand heavy blows and pressure. At the same time, lift your heel, spread your arms to hold the handrail or stick to the inner wall of the elevator, make the whole back and head stick to the inner wall of the elevator in a straight line, and use the elevator wall as the protection of the spine.
