The Sanguantang Bridge, which spans the north and south of the Yongjiang River and connects the eastern New City, Jiangbei and Zhenhai, was officially opened to traffic on September 27, 2020. This greatly facilitates the travel of citizens on both sides of the strait. After the opening of the bridge, the construction department of our city has been speeding up the construction of the auxiliary facilities of the bridge. Yesterday, the reporter learned from the Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau that the two bridgeheads on the west side of the Sanguantang Bridge were officially put into use. So far, the four bridgeheads and eight elevators on the north and south sides of the bridge have all been put into operation, greatly facilitating the passage of non-motor vehicles and pedestrians across the river.
On the south side of Sanguantang Bridge, there are two bridgeheads, and there are two sightseeing elevators in each bridgehead. The reporter noticed at the scene that within 10 minutes, three or four citizens rode electric vehicles from the bridgehead of Yongjiang Avenue to the north of the Yangtze River. Master Chen, who rode an electric bike, told reporters: "In the past, you had to bypass the Mingzhou Bridge to cross the river by bike. After the Sanguantang Bridge was opened to traffic, it was more convenient to go to Jiangbei." Tian Lingchuan, technical director of the Sanguantang Bridge, told reporters: "In order to facilitate the citizens to cross the river, the two bridgeheads on the east side of the bridge were put into use years ago. Today, the two bridgeheads on the west side of the bridge are also officially put into use."
"At present, the landscape greening project affiliated to the bridge is basically completed, and the rectification part is basically in place. After the acceptance is passed, the entire space under the bridge will be fully opened." Tian Lingchuan said.
Each bridgehead is equipped with two elevators and one staircase. For walking citizens, both walking and elevator can be used to get on the bridge. Standing on the bridge deck, the view is very wide, and the scenery of the Yongjiang River is also unobstructed.
Tian Lingchuan said that when non-motorized vehicles cross the river, they can choose bridgeheads and non-motorized lanes, and pedestrians can choose to cross the river on the bridge deck from the bridgehead and walk across the river. The bridgehead connects Yongjiang Avenue and Ningzhen Road. If citizens drive non-motorized vehicles and go to Jiangnan Road or Ningzhen Road, please choose the non-motorized vehicle lane of the main line of the bridge.
The reporter learned that there are two large squares around the north and south bridgeheads of the bridge, covering an area of about 13000 square meters. Among them, the South Square is equipped with the LOGO of Sanguantang Bridge and a landscape mirror pool. Four space planets are placed in the pool and two large space planets are placed in the flower bed outside the pool. In the middle of the square, 4 spray devices and 7 small color-plated hemispheres are set up.
On the south bank of the bridge, there is a parking lot covering an area of about 18000 square meters, with 103 parking spaces, including a public toilet, a large children's amusement facility, climbing wall and other public entertainment venues, as well as a small enlightenment square, pedestrian trails and other public leisure places.
